First UK Astromech builders group meet

I got the chance this weekend to meet up with some other UK Droid builders at Collectamania and it was a great day. It is always brilliant to meet up with other builders and share ideas and just admire the workmanhsip that goes into these builds. We represented ourself as the UK Astromech builders group and there was great interets form the public about the builds with a fair few wanting to go away and download plans and have a go themselves. It was also nice meeting up with a few people from the UK Garison, such brilliant costumes, plus Emy seems very at home in the company of storm troopers and imperial troups.
Not much in the way of new bits and pieces added to Emy. I have now decided to stick with the in-line skate wheels mounted and caster units on the front foot. I have ordered nice new soft 72mm wheels to replace the old worn ones. These wheels seem to have no trouble with most surfaces and most importantly, they are very, very quiet.The new moving holo projector even though it got loads of abuse form young kids did not fail seems as strong as ever.
