The ide of the new center foot is:
1. to create a slightly larger interior to the foot so a larger caster can be fitted
2. Make the foot much. much stronger than the original.
The materials used are plywood and for the main shell I have used a laminate flooring material. It is immensly strong and very easy to work with.The lower skirt is made out of two pieces of 18mm MDF to add the strength and a further two internal rings of 12mm MDF. This gives the whole structure much more strength and in theory will not crack under the heavy loads the center foot takes.
