After playing around with adding a new a third battery I was still finding that the sound system was drawing to many Amps, so the main head unit has been replaced for a smaller and very light weight amplifier. At 50w RMS per channel there is more than enough power and there is less fuss as it does not need to be turned on each time Emy is powered up. One advantage it has is a USB port providing 5v out. I have routed this through to the front coin slot so a USB device can be plugged in or charged.
Getting rid of the larger and heavier head unit has freed up loads of space inside Emy which means that I have been able to remount the sound board in a better position. The sound board also has a small fan fitted to keep it cool, the fitting of this fan seems to work very well.
